How to ask

If required, applications are generally submitted electronically through a grantee portal. Grantees provide information on the purpose of the grant, intended outcomes and outputs, the requested grant amount, and a budget. Application submission deadlines are stated below, however, applications can be submitted outside of these timeframes as needed.

Limits on who can apply

Education strategy grants are focused on non-profits that focus on supporting and educating students in Oakland, CA. Grants outside of our strategy are directed by the family and do not have the same limitations. To be eligible, grant applicants must be tax-exempt under IRC Section 501(c)(3) and not classified as a private foundation.
