About this grant

The Flood Mitigation Assistance (FMA) program provides federal funding to reduce or eliminate long-term flood risk to buildings, manufactured homes, and other structures insured through the National Flood Insurance Program. In Tennessee, TEMA administers the program, assists applicants, reviews applications, and submits eligible projects to FEMA. The FY 2026 round makes $400 million available nationwide for localized flood risk reduction projects, project scoping, and local mitigation plans.
