About this grant
The Statewide Capital Projects Initiative is a five-year, $80 million matching capital grant program funded by Lilly Endowment Inc. and administered through Indiana United Ways. It supports real estate projects that increase the availability and quality of essential health and human services, such as childcare, mental health care, supportive housing, and food assistance, in Indiana counties served by IUW member United Ways. Grants range from $50,000 to $1.5 million and require a 1:1 match.
Eligibility details
- Notes: Open to nonprofit 501(c)(3) community benefit organizations that can demonstrate the primary purpose of the capital project space is to directly deliver essential health and human services (e.g., childcare, early childhood education, mental health care, supportive/transitional housing, food assistance). Excludes real estate developers, nonprofits established by for-profit entities, economic development corporations, community development corporations, public education foundations, and organizations without a primary health/human services purpose (e.g., market-rate sports/recreation facilities, museums, cultural centers). Projects must be in Indiana counties served by Indiana United Ways member United Ways and require endorsement by United Way of Marshall County.
