Ford Family Scholarship Programs

About this grant

The Ford Family Foundation offers multiple scholarship programs for students from Oregon and Siskiyou County, California, including the Ford Scholars, Ford Transfer Scholars, Ford Opportunity Scholars, and Ford Sons and Daughters programs. The scholarships support undergraduate education and require financial need, with application periods opening annually on December 1 and closing on March 1.

Eligibility details

• Notes: Applicants must be residents of Oregon or Siskiyou County, California (for most programs), have lived there for at least 12 months prior to college enrollment, and qualify for in-state tuition if attending a public university. Members of federally recognized Oregon tribes may qualify regardless of state residency. Undocumented students in Oregon and Siskiyou County who meet certain qualifications are eligible. Ford Sons and Daughters Program applicants are exempt from residency requirements but must meet other eligibility criteria. Financial need is considered, with specific Student Aid Index (SAI) limits: $8,000 or less for Ford Scholars, $10,000 or less for Ford Transfer and Ford Opportunity Programs. Applicants must enroll full-time (minimum 12 credit hours per term) and attend college in the fall of the award year. A criminal background check is conducted; individuals with felony convictions may be eligible if parole/probation completed and restitution paid by August 1 of the application year.
