About this grant

The Texas Off-System Rail Grade Separation State Fund Program provides financial assistance to eligible governmental entities in Texas for rail grade separation projects that improve public safety, support economic development, and reduce traffic congestion. Funded through a $250 million legislative appropriation, the program supports project development and construction of grade separations that eliminate at-grade rail-highway crossings or provide grade-separated pedestrian-rail crossings off the state highway system.
