About this grant
The South Dakota Fund is an unrestricted grantmaking program of the South Dakota Community Foundation that supports nonprofit and charitable organizations across South Dakota in culture, economic development, education, financial literacy, health and human services, plus new focus areas of Child Well-Being, Housing, and Workforce Development starting in 2026. Eligible organizations submit a Letter of Inquiry through the GOapply portal, and invited applicants complete a full application for board review.
Eligibility details
- Notes: Applicants should be a public nonprofit organization as defined by IRS Publication 78, or work with a verified fiscal sponsor. Organizations must be verified by the IRS under Publication 78. Governmental entities may not use funds for operating expenses. Grants are not made for political campaigns, discriminatory practices, or personal gain. Multiple or repeat applications from one organization within a 12-month period are not allowed, except for financial literacy projects and certain collaborative/fiscal sponsor situations.
