About this grant

NephCure, in collaboration with the International Society of Glomerular Diseases, Kidney Health Initiative, and National Kidney Foundation, supports the PARASOL project—a collaborative international effort to define quantitative relationships between short-term biomarker changes (proteinuria and GFR) and long-term outcomes in FSGS. The grant funds clinician investigators and statisticians who can contribute existing cohort, registry, or real-world data or statistical expertise to the PARASOL project. This is a limited competition for invited applicants who have previously collaborated with or contributed to PARASOL.

Eligibility details

  • Notes: Two programs: (1) Clinician investigator program open to all investigators or clinicians who oversee an existing cohort study, registry, or real-world data inclusive of substantial FSGS patient data meeting PARASOL dataset eligibility criteria; (2) Statistician program open to individuals with key expertise in statistical planning and execution. Applicants must be reviewed and approved/invited by the PARASOL Organizing Committee before submitting a proposal to NephCure. Dataset eligibility requires biopsy-proven or monogenic FSGS, index UPCR ≥1 g/g, index eGFR ≥30 ml/min/1.73m2, at least 100 participants meeting inclusion criteria, ≥24 months follow-up, ≥3 UPCR and ≥3 eGFR measurements 6–24 months post-index UPCR, and no evidence of kidney failure within 6 months.
